Which Shea Body Butter Is Right for You?

Which Shea Body Butter Is Right for You?

A Complete Guide to Our 6 Variants

Shea Body Butter is by far our most popular product – like by far.

Because of this, we expanded the range to 6 different variations. Some are more popular than others, but all of them are regularly bought by the Natural Health Harmony family: Unrefined, Lemon, Ylang Ylang, Orange, Lavender and Coconut Oil Mix.

So, What Even Is Shea Body Butter?

Shea Butter is a rich, creamy fat extracted from the nuts of the shea tree, which grows mainly in West Africa, and it’s been used for centuries as a natural solution for dry skin, inflammation, and even minor wounds.

What makes it special is its high content of vitamins A and E, along with fatty acids that deeply moisturise, soften, and protect the skin. Unlike some butters that sit on top of your skin, shea actually melts into it, helping to lock in moisture and improve skin texture over time.

At Natural Health Harmony, we only use raw, unrefined shea butter, the kind that still holds all of its natural goodness, without the chemical processing or bleaching you’ll find in a lot of store-bought alternatives.

Unrefined Variant

This is the butter in its purest form with no extras, no added scent, just raw, unrefined Shea straight from nature. If you’ve got sensitive skin, eczema, or just want something ultra-gentle that does the job without doing too much, this is it.

The texture’s thick, rich, and works deep to lock in moisture, perfect for anyone who wants long-lasting hydration without risking irritation. It’s also great for kids or people who prefer fragrance-free skincare. The natural, nutty aroma might take a second to get used to, but your skin will love you for it.

Lemon Variant

If you like your skincare to smell fresh and feel uplifting, Lemon is the one. This body butter has a light, citrusy scent that gives your routine a little energy boost, think: sunshine in a jar. Lemon oil is naturally antibacterial and great for people with oily skin or those prone to breakouts on the body. It absorbs nicely without feeling heavy, so it’s perfect for morning use or warmer days when you still want deep hydration but not that greasy feeling.

Lavender Variant

Lavender is the go-to for calm, and this butter makes it part of your daily routine. If you like winding down after a long day or want something soothing to put on before bed, this one’s got your name on it. Lavender is a smell that is synonymous with aromatherapy and massages, and this scent is soft and floral (not overpowering) and pairs perfectly with a chill night routine. Great for people with dry or irritated skin, especially during winter or stressful periods when your skin feels more reactive. This one’s also a winner if you’re dealing with itchiness or flare-ups, thanks to lavender’s natural anti-inflammatory properties.

Ylang Ylang Variant

Ylang Ylang is that sweet spot between floral and exotic. It gives your skin a spa-like experience with a scent that’s soft, sensual, and a little luxurious. But this isn’t just about smelling good, ylang ylang actually helps balance oil production, making it ideal for combination skin or people dealing with hormonal changes. If your skin sometimes feels confused: dry one week, oily the next, then this butter helps bring things back into harmony. It’s also a nice mood-lifter, especially on days when you need a little extra self-care.

Orange Variant

My personal favourite (and also the one I used this morning). With a juicy, zesty orange aroma, it’s perfect for a morning pick-me-up or post-shower glow. Orange oil is naturally rich in Vitamin C, which can help brighten skin tone and even out texture over time. It’s lightweight but still nourishing, so it’s ideal for people who want hydration without feeling too heavy. If your skin’s looking a bit dull or you just want something to lift your mood, this is the one to reach for.

Coconut Oil Mix

This one’s like a holiday in a jar and is the perfect blend between two of our most popular products. Our Shea Body Butter and Coconut Oil Mix combines the richness of shea butter with the deep hydration of coconut oil, making it perfect for very dry skin or those dealing with rough patches, cracked heels, or stretch marks. The scent is creamy, warm, and tropical smooth without being too sweet. This butter’s particularly great post-shower, after sun exposure, or even during colder months when your skin needs that extra bit of love. If you’re after all-day softness and shine, this one’s a no-brainer.

It’s also worth noting that this is perfect for those who think coconut 0il is not firm enough for them.
